Cismigiu Garden
Cismigiu Garden is a historic and picturesque public park located in the heart of Bucharest, Romania. Established in 1847, it is the city’s oldest park and spans over 16 hectares (about 40 acres). The garden is a blend of natural beauty and classical landscape design, featuring winding paths, charming bridges, and serene lakes.
One of the park’s most iconic features is the central lake, which is surrounded by lush greenery and can be explored by rowboat in the warmer months. In winter, it transforms into an ice-skating rink. Cismigiu Garden is also home to a diverse array of plant species, including century-old trees, vibrant flowerbeds, and ornamental shrubs.
Throughout the park, you’ll find statues and monuments commemorating Romanian literary figures and historical personalities, adding a cultural dimension to its natural appeal. The garden is dotted with benches, making it an ideal spot for relaxation, people-watching, or simply enjoying a peaceful moment away from the bustle of the city.
Cismigiu Garden’s central location makes it easily accessible and a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Its timeless charm, combined with its rich history, makes it one of Bucharest’s most beloved green spaces, offering a tranquil retreat in the midst of the vibrant capital.
